A set of SLOW-MO investigations, meditations and activities for Union Canal created in collaboration with people who live, work and play on the canal and surrounding areas.
Glasgow-based duo Pester & Rossi have been invited by Edinburgh Art Festival to undertake a period of research and development, working with children, young people and adults who live and play close to the Union Canal in the Wester Hailes area, gathering their creative responses to water, nature and the environment around them. The project’s first phase is a zine exchange with children at the St Augustine’s School Hub in July and August 2020, the exchange will inform a publication accompanied by sound investigations co-produced with Rhubaba Choir, and including meditations and activities to do on the Union Canal. The publication will be distributed to local residents through WHALEArts centre. For the final phase Pester & Rossi will work with groups from WHALEArts to create posters showcasing the array of responses from young people and adults taking part in the project.
