Windows of Tolerance: Tools for Ideal Collaborations in an Unideal (Art) World

Lavender Menace Queer Books Archive event

21st August 25

PAST EVENT: This was part of the EAF25 programme.

For EAF25, Lavender Menace Queer Books Archive co-hosted a workshop and publication launch alongside Feminist Culture House, an intersectional feminist curatorial and editorial collective based in Helsinki.

The workshop used verbal, edible, and textual prompts to guide a conversation about finding and sharing different skills and resources in collaborative creative work. It included sharings from new online publication Windows of Tolerance: Tools for Ideal Collaborations in an Unideal (Art) World, as well as a foraged pine pollen and valerian root infusion from Finland—this might prompt lucid dreaming later that night.

Lavender Menace welcomed anyone interested in chatting about the practicalities of curatorial and collective practices, hanging out, and dreaming of how to create kind working conditions, that feel nourishing for everyone involved.

Katie’s work is supported by the Arts Promotion Centre Finland, and travels by the Finnish Cultural Institute. The Windows of Tolerance publication is supported by Frame Contemporary Art Finland, Kari Mattilan säätiö, and Kone Foundation
