Resistance | Format: the Women’s Photography Agency Artist Talk

National Galleries Scotland: National event

12th August 25

As part of the EAF25 exhibition Resistance, National Galleries of Scotland invites audiences to join photographers Pam Isherwood and Maggie Murray for a discussion about Format. Format was established in 1983 and operated for two decades ending in 2003, an agency founded as a collective to represent women photographers.

The exhibition Resistance was conceived by acclaimed artist and filmmaker Steve McQueen at the National Galleries of Scotland: Modern Two. Exploring how acts of resistance have shaped life in the UK, Resistance showcased the powerful role of photography in documenting and driving change.
