Rabiya Choudhry: Give light and people will find the way (Ella Baker)

Leith Library exhibition

9th August 24 - 25th August 24

Following its 2023 installation, Leith Library is now the long-term home of Rabiya Choudhry’s illuminated artwork, Give light and people will find the way (Ella Baker).

Part of Choudhry’s Lost Lighting series, the artwork features Andrew Carnegie’s flaming torch motif and words from African-American civil rights activist Ella Baker.

Rabiya Choudhry’s work was purchased by EAF following the 2023 festival, and located in Leith with the generous support of City of Edinburgh Council Libraries. This work was originally commissioned by The Common Guild as part of the project anywhere in the universe in Glasgow in 2023.
