Alice Rekab: Let Me Show You Who I Am

EAF25 Pavilion exhibition

7th August 25 - 24th August 25

PAST EVENT: This was part of the EAF25 programme.

Created to be shown on billboards, Let Me Show You Who I Am delved into themes of diaspora, migration, and Irish and Black identity. The artworks were been created through a dynamic series of workshops with SCORE Scotland, providing a vibrant platform for young people to engage with histories of resistance, solidarity, and cultural expression.

The workshops brought together contributions from three Irish and Scottish artists: sound healer Maïa Nunes, musician Aisling-Ór Ní Aodha, and poet Isaac Harris. Each artist lead the young people in a different practice, spanning movement, breathwork, sound, recording, and writing. The visual artworks became a powerful visual record of the young people’s experience and participation. The artworks were shown publicly on billboards across Wishaw Terrace throughout the festival, supported by JACK ARTS Scotland.
