EAF are teaming up with The Skinny for a third year to commission four emerging writers and critics based in Scotland to write in response to our 2024 Programme.
To coincide with our 20th Birthday, each writer will be commissioned to respond creatively to the work produced as part of the PLATFORM24 Early Career Artists Award, as well as to the EAF24 Programme at large. EAF is delighted to platform and uplift the work of Scottish-based writers from backgrounds currently underrepresented in journalism, to have their work published in print and online at The Skinny, as well as supported through mentorship from team members from EAF and The Skinny at this vital stage in their careers.
2024 Emerging Writers
Celeste Aurora MacLeod-Brown is a Scottish multidisciplinary artist, writer and curator based across Edinburgh and Glasgow. Currently studying at Glasgow School of Art, and undertaking curatorial and written work on a freelance and self-initiated basis, she seeks to foster a research-based and (somewhat) dematerialised practice which entwines elements from various modes of cultural production and utilises writing as a method for reflection, critique, generative process and finalised artistic output.
Rory McMillan is an artist based in Glasgow, recently graduated from Communication Design at the Glasgow School of Art. He works across the practices of printmaking, publishing, and curation, exploring themes of queer semiotics and spatiality and enjoys contributing to community focused projects.
Gabrielle Tse is a writer, poet, and critic based in Edinburgh. Her work has been published in ArtAsiaPacific, The London Magazine, Propel Magazine, Interpret Magazine, and more.
Ella Williamson is an artist and curator based in Glasgow. Her practice explores themes of decoloniality, often through parody, utilising print mediums and publication formats. Her work dissects colonial paradigms, centring black experience whilst radically dreaming of alternatives.
