Edinburgh Science Open Artist Call

Edinburgh Science is looking for a Scottish-based or Scottish-born artist to create a large-scale commission that explores the historic, social, and cultural dynamics of science. The opportunity culminates in a large scale installation at a major public venue in Edinburgh during the 2026 Edinburgh Science Festival, with further activity across Edinburgh Art Festival, Edinburgh Storytelling Festival and Mexico Science Festival.

Proposals are welcome from artists working in any medium, with an interest in interdisciplinary collaboration. The selected artist will receive a fee of £10,000 and a separate production budget of £20,000.
