Accessibility

Edinburgh is a historic city with its Old town and New Town listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Therefore, some festival venues unfortunately are unable to offer modern levels of access for everyone. At Edinburgh Art Festival however, we aim to maximise accessibility for all, so please contact us if you want advice on access to individual venues. See Euan’s Guide for an introduction to Edinburgh and advice on accessibility.

We are dedicated to improving accessibility each year to the festival. Approaches to this include our 2021 Visually Impaired programme focussed on visual description tours and workshops with partner organisations as well as Deaf-led British Sign Language events. Hearing loops can be provided on request for tailored tours. Regularly we work with teenagers and adults with additional support needs and those who identify as neurodiverse.

As part of our partnership with Euan’s Guide, we launch a dedicated page each year for the Edinburgh Art Festival bringing together accessibility information on all our partner venues and Commissions Programme, which you can find here.
